so what is crimping? Im gonna do a home network and unsure of how hard it is to actually make my own wires. What is crimping and how hard is it to make your own network cables?

There's alot of information on this out there - do a google search for "RJ45 crimping" http://www.alatec.com/info/rj45.html for instance looks ok.

Yes Paul, Its a full crimping tool. Cuts, strips and crimps

Paul: RJ45 connectors on the end of a network cable, then yes. (a patch cable means all wires look the same each end, and a cross-over requires a set pattern)
