Can I use this cable to connect my router to my xbox or is it the straight through cable I need.
what does microsoft say? Routers can cope with both types as long as its a decent model!

I'm not the brightest of ppl wiv pcs so i wanna no that if u link 2 pcs network card 2 network card wiv this cable or ne network cable u an recommend can they share an internet connection or do i need a router? cheers
You can use crossover cable when connecting pc to pc. I' was told once that if the cards are auto-negotiating, then apparently it doesn’t matter what cable you use... The other option is to use a modem/router and a normal net cable. I suggest you have a look round the internet and get to grips with the whole networking 'malarkey' ;) Try this link: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1429

Will this cable be OK if 1 x PC has a 10 base network card and the other is an onboard 100?
Yes.

Just want to be 100% sure. If I put the lead I got with the router into my pc and then put this lead into the router and connect it to the network card on the other pc will this allow both pc's to use the internet at the same time.
No, you need straight through, not cross-wired.

I need to get some cable to connect my router to my brothers pc, the cable I got is CAT5 UTP but is way to short. I was thinking bout getting the 20M UTP CROSS-WIRED PATCH LEAD, just wondering if this lead will work (as it says Rj45 connection only). Can anyone help, really need answer soon + the router I bought doesnt have a usb connection so I have to buy a network card now. Thanks
You need straight through for that, not cross-wired.
